Stress often carries a negative connotation but in reality stress helps you prepare to meet many of life’s challenges. Stress is our internal response to any situation we find challenging, positive or negative. We cannot eliminate stress from our life but we do have the power to change the effects of stress by managing our response to the challenges that we face. At Back 2 Normal we understand that many factors can impact a person’s well being and managing stress is often at the top of the list.  We offer several services that assist clients with reducing stress and learning helpful strategies to impact their wellbeing and performance.

Meditation

can have a profound effect on the mind and the physical body. There is a strong correlation between pain in the body and stress in the mind. Moving ourselves toward a calmer, more relaxed and centered place will help to decrease our stress and anxieties, helping the body move away from the pain state.

AromaTouch & Essential Oils

is a technique using essential oils with specific patterns of touch and energy balancing applied to the body.  It is a great way to experience essential oils which helps restore homeostasis in the body, reduces inflammation, decreases stress and toxicity and restores hormonal balance. You will also learn which oils may be most helpful for you to use at home or work to help reduce stress, create peace and calmness and lessen anxiety.

SCENAR Therapy

is a unique form of electrotherapy, SCENAR uses active reflex biofeedback to communicate with the nervous system enabling an interaction between the device and the body to stimulate its own, natural healing mechanisms. Scenar helps to calm and regulate the sympathetic nervous system which can affect our fight or flight response to stress.

Total Body Balance

is a full body evaluation and treatment approach which focuses on reducing pain and body tension. It treats the body as a whole and addresses the Total Body Lesion. The Total Body Lesion is the sum of all imbalances or dysfunctions of your mind, body and spirit. These Total Body Lesions are an accumulation of every car accident, sports injury, falls, surgery, repetitive motion, ergonomic and stress. These lesions are influenced by both internal and external factors including metal stressors, emotions, thoughts, beliefs and environmental influences. Each of these experiences and stressors has an effect on the physical body and health.

TBB uses a gentle, rhythmic mobilization approach to relax the muscles, fascia, joints and ligaments, circulation, nerve and energy flow within the body. By introducing natural movement and rhythm to the body, TBB helps to calm down an overly stressed nervous system.

TBB has many benefits such as improved energy levels, decreased pain, speeds recovery, decreased mental stress, restores your health and allows you to return to your daily activities quickly. MELT Therapy

Daily living creates stress, imbalances and tension within the body. Physical stressors may range from sitting at a desk to running a marathon. Emotional, mental, and environmental stressors also put strain on the body. MELT is a breakthrough technique that directly addresses “stuck stress” and slows down the aging process by rehydrating the connective tissue and rebalancing the nervous system.

Sleep

We all know the importance of a good night’s sleep. 8 straight hours and we feel like a new person – rested, relaxed and ready for the stressful day ahead. But most of us just don’t sleep well. Exercise

It is well documented that when we exercise, our body releases chemicals called endorphins. These endorphins interact with the receptors in our brain that reduce our perception of pain and also trigger a positive feeling in the body.  At Back 2 Normal we are all about keeping the body moving and creating positive movement experiences through many different avenues. Journaling

An excellent way to explore thoughts and feelings surrounding the events of your life. Journaling is incorporated into our yoga and meditation sessions to help identify areas of stress and find gratitude and assist with emotional processing.
