Jocelyn Wallace, DPT, CSCS
Jocelyn joined Back 2 Normal as a Physical Therapist in May 2017. Jocelyn earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Nova Southeastern University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of South Florida. She is a NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, a Certified Selective Functional Movement Assessment practitioner, and an official Clinical Athlete Provider. Jocelyn has had the opportunity to work with the MLB, MiLB, and Crossfit War Games USA, and has been accepted for poster publication with the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Jocelyn is passionate about the role of physical therapists as Movement Experts and their role in health maintenance and disease prevention. She has served in various capacities within the APTA on a State and National level, including lobbying for healthcare improvements in Tallahassee and Washington, D.C., and has written on advocacy, professional development, and public perception of physical therapy for ADVANCE for Physical Therapy and Rehab Medicine Magazine, Evidence in Motion, and PT Think Tank.
Jocelyn is a native-born Floridian and has been involved in strength and conditioning since 2011, including training in Strongman, Crossfit, and powerlifting, as well as competing in powerlifting in 2016. As a Physical Therapist and B2N team member, Jocelyn’s mission is to help get people moving better, hurting less, and living healthier lives. She is excited to work with the St. Petersburg and Tampa Bay community to advance the role of health, wellness, and movement in our lives.
Kirsten Snellenburg, LMT, MPT, DPT
Kirsten joined Back 2 Normal in March 2017. Kirsten is a licensed physical therapist with over 19 years of experience, earning her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine in 2008. Prior to earning her doctorate, she completed her Master’s Degree in physical therapy from Nova Southeastern University. She also holds her undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Eckerd College and is a licensed massage therapist, through the Humanity School of Massage since 1996.
Kirsten finds great satisfaction in helping her patients, that suffer with these life-altering conditions, get back to enjoying life and all it has to offer. Kirsten’s goal is to develop productive relationships with patients by emphasizing quality care that addresses individual needs and specific goals for recovery and assists patients in obtaining their optimal level of function. An educator at heart, Kirsten holds many trainings throughout the medical community to explain how physical therapy can assist in eliminating the issues she addresses daily.
Kirsten’s vast clinical experience in orthopedic outpatient physical therapy has her treating pre and post operative injuries, spinal manipulations, as well as extensive manual therapy. Owning an outpatient physical therapy clinic for over 10 years, she is very well-known amongst therapists and physicians because of her excellent reputation and skills in Manual therapy, Visceral Manipulation, Pelvic Floor Dysfunction, Vestibular Dysfunction, and Temporal Mandibular Dysfunction (TMJ).
She is a full time faculty at St. Petersburg College, where she instructs upcoming Physical Therapist Assistants. She also conducts several Continuing Education Courses for massage therapists on Sport’s Massage, Cervical Headache, Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, TMJ, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Ultrasound, and other Soft Tissue Dysfunction. She is a contributing author for the textbook, “Sports Injury and Rehabilitation,” and looks forward to wearing her “author” hat again in the future.
Liz Vreeland, LMT, Massage Therapist & Wellness Consultant
Liz joined Back 2 Normal in May 2015 and is our massage therapy and wellness consultant expert. Liz is a 2001 graduate of Humanities Center School of Massage. With a mindful and compassionate presence, Liz utilizes an integrative approach to massage through Myofascial, Neuromuscular, Thai, Sports, Therapeutic Relaxation and Reflexology techniques to restore health and promote homeostasis to the body.
She is passionate about the transformation of a person through the power of positive energy and touch. Whether you want to optimize biomechanics for athletic performance, improve quality of life, boost physical, mental and emotional recharge, or just need a little rest and relaxation, Liz customizes the perfect blend just for you.
Liz is also a licensed cosmetologist and is a compassionate animal activist with a specialty in bird rescue.
Charlene Greene, Certified Stott Pilates Instructor & Movement Specialist
Charlene joined Back 2 Normal in March 2014 and is our Pilates expert, rehabilitation transition and return to fitness specialist. She currently assists clients through Private, Duets and small group mat classes where she customizes sessions to maximize results and performance.
Charlene first came to her love of Pilates as many have…through pain. After spending several years working desk jobs, the pain in her neck and shoulders became too much to handle. On a whim she gave Pilates a try. That was in 2002 and she has not looked back since. After 2 years of practicing as a student, she decided to change her life and become a Pilates instructor. First being certified through The PhysicalMind Institute then continuing her education with Stott Pilates.
Over the past 10 years Charlene has worked closely with chiropractors and Physical Therapists and has found a niche in helping clients realign their bodies after injury, surgery and child birth. By treating each client individually, sessions are planned to help strengthen and improve the clients body. She believes that everyone can benefit from Pilates and, through her enthusiasm for the practice, she aids her clients in becoming more aligned and out of pain.
Ilene Gershberg, ACSM, FMS, Pilates Instructor & Performance/Health Coach
Ilene joined Back 2 Normal in May 2015 and is our fitness and rehabilitation transition expert. Ilene will be offering Private and Duet sessions where she customizes programming to maximize results and performance.
Ilene is a nationally certified personal trainer, corporate wellness consultant, fitness author and professional speaker. Certified by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) for more than 20 years, she has specialized in post-rehab fitness, weight loss, functional/core training, TRX suspension training, Pilates and fitness in the workplace.
Ilene struggled with her own weight until almost 50 years of age when she lost over 46 inches, embraced fitness and transformed her own life. She became dedicated to her wellbeing and helping those who struggled to be fit. Ilene has competed in 5 marathons and ranked as a finalist in a fitness competition. She served as a health and fitness contributor at NBC News in Tampa, Daytime Morning Shows and radio talk shows. Her personal experiences and professional training has empowered her clients to invest in their own health and well-being.
Ilene has collaborated and worked with physical therapists for nearly a decade to help clients’ transition from rehabilitation and back to fitness. Committed and passionate to her mission, Ilene is thrilled to join the Back 2 Normal Team helping people live their best life every single day!
Jillian Warwick, Certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner
Jillian joined Back 2 Normal in May of 2017, and is our Certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner. She’s a life-long health enthusiast, personal development devotee & eternal optimist. Jillian offers one-on-one guidance to help you sort through all the confusing, contradictory health & nutrition advice. She believes in the concept of biochemical individuality – simply put, what’s right for one person may not be right for the next – and that optimal health is a result of balancing the body through appropriate diet & lifestyle changes. Ultimately, her goal is to help you live YOUR BEST LIFE by teaching you how to nourish your body from the inside out.
Carly Mertz, Yoga and Meditation Instructor & Wellness Coordinator
Carly joined Back 2 Normal in July of 2016 and is our Yoga & Meditation Instructor and Wellness Coordinator. She currently brings her experience in business operations, marketing and communications, and customer service to the front desk. Along with her positive attitude and contagious work ethic.
She is a Florida native, born and raised in Tallahassee, and relocated to St. Petersburg in October of 2014. After moving to the Bay Area Carly rediscovered her love of Yoga and wellness and enrolled in a 200-hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) training program in St. Pete. Upon receiving her 200RYT she began to refocus her career, professional and personal goals around wellness with a yoga emphasis. She decided to continue her education and is currently enrolled in a 500-hour RYT training program to strengthen her studies and expertise.
Carly is passionate about helping others and centers her life and teaching philosophy around self care, balance, and mentality. She looks forward to her evolving role at Back 2 Normal and to helping clients feel welcome, safe, balanced, and whole.
Gail Oliver, Front Office Manager & Wellness Coordinator
Gail joined the Back 2 Normal team in August 2013. brings her years of expertise to our graphics design, marketing, advertising, administration and web initiatives. She manages our front office operations and ensures an exceptional customer service experience. She is a Florida native, born and raised in St. Petersburg. Over the past few years she has been dealing with some health issues that have brought her to a place of getting her life in balance as a woman. This is a time in her life where she sees the true value in being a part of something that can really makes a difference in other people’s lives as well as her own; hence her decision to join the Back 2 Normal team. Working in such a positive environment gets this desire in motion, literally. She is eager to take in everything and apply it to her life and be able to give back in a meaningful way. Gail also has a passion for horses and the equestrian world. As an owner she rides several days a week to stay active. Her goal is to be strong and fit and have a full and healthy life from this day forward.
