The B2N Approach

At B2N, our team of professionals work together to optimally and synergistically treat each client as a whole.  When needed, we provide professional recommendations outside of our individual practice to best serve your greatest overall health and wellbeing.

A B2N massage, itself, is an integrative experience. In each session, we customize a blend of the services offered into a personalized treatment focused on you and your individual needs. You may request a specific therapy, or relax and experience all of them.

A Few Tips

  • Arriving early allows you to unwind before your treatment.
  • Remember, it’s all about you! Talk with your therapist so they can personalize your treatment. Let them know which areas need more attention or which areas you wish to avoid.
  • Please feel free to communicate any need for adjusting the amount of pressure applied during a treatment, or your temperature comforts.
  • For most, but not all massage services, we recommend disrobing completely. Your therapist will keep you comfortably draped during your service.
  • Our therapist is highly skilled and licensed, trained in a variety of techniques; however, if you would like to have a service that is not on the menu, please let us know and we will make every effort to accommodate your requests.

Massage Menu Overview

Reflexology

Ancient art using deep pressure on the reflex areas and nerve endings of hands and feet that correspond to all parts of the body, including major organs and body systems.  Any tension and congestion found there mirrors itself in the body. Treatment helps the body to maintain homeostasis. Unless incorporated into another treatment, fully clothed.

 Swedish

Most common form of Western massage delivering a combination of slow and vigorous strokes promoting relaxation, improved circulation and reduced emotional and physical stress.

Sports Massage

A series of on-going massage that is designed to help the athlete reach peak performance before, during and after events with preparation, performance and recovery techniques that combine deep tissue, stretching and compression.  Reduces muscle pain and joint soreness, increases flexibility and speeds recovery from injuries or overworked muscles.

Esalen

Melt tension away from head to toe with slow, stress relieving, long flowing, and continuous full body strokes with gentle pause and rocking that match the rhythm of your breath.  Supports a full body connection. Sound is often set to the movement of the ocean.

Tabletop Thai

Also called, “ The Lazy Man’s Yoga”, enjoy the benefits of yoga without any work.  Performed on a massage table.  While wearing loose comfortable clothing, you are placed into yoga positions while the therapist applies a deep stretches pressing along the energy lines of your body. The many benefits include, increased alertness, centeredness, flexibility and range of motion, pain relief, enhanced athletic performance, improved posture and injury prevention. Great for athletes for pre and post event conditioning. Full routine is 2 hours. Fully clothed.

Swe-Thai

Combines Swedish and Thai massage into a delicious session on the table.

Deep Tissue

Releases deeply-held pain patterns of muscle, tendon and fascia tension with deep strokes that penetrate contracted layers while relaxing and soothing the muscle. While the focus may be on specific areas, this is a full body toxin release. Drink plenty of water to flush and hydrate before and after treatment. Any deep work may cause soreness, but should feel better than ever within a day or two.

 Neuromuscular Therapy

Deep and precise pressure is applied to soft tissue restrictions with fingertips, knuckles or elbows that is held 30-60 seconds. This is an interactive therapeutic treatment requiring feedback from the client. This method can restore the structural, functional and postural integrity of the body; remove pain, muscular tension, stress, and restrictions to health. Results will be improved muscle function, lengthening of muscle fibers, improved joint function and increased venous flow. Sometimes the effects are immediate and the pain is resolved, and sometimes it takes a day or two for the residual soreness to reside. Drink plenty of water to flush toxins before and after treatment. NMT is highly effective for eliminating chronic pain by skillfully addressing Trigger Points, Tender Points, neural entrapment, nerve compression, ischemia, low back pain, headaches, neck pain, TMJ syndrome, repetitive motion injuries like carpal tunnel syndrome and tingling hands and feet.

Craniosacral Therapy

A very subtle and relaxing light touch technique that has profound healing effects on the body by freeing the central nervous system from restrictions. By monitoring the rhythm and releasing tensions, it allows the entire body to relax and self-correct. CST strengthens resistance to disease while eliminating pain, dysfunction and stress. Effective for all ages, from newborns to elders. Unless incorporated into another service, a session is fully clothed.

Myofascial Release

Deep and slow work affecting the connective tissue of the body, which can turn into a “straight-jacket” around the muscles, organs and bones if not specifically treated and released. Restricted fascia is responsible for pain and dysfunction that eludes traditional medical tests and massage therapy treatments for muscles. No lotion or cream is used, in order to properly grip and penetrate the superficial layers of skin, hooking into the fascia. Great relief and release may be felt, as well as body improved posture and body lengthening.

Postural Muscle Assessments

The careful observation and evaluation of muscles and their placement in structure and function as related to hypertonicity, hypotonicity, imbalance and dysfunction.

Muscle Energy Techniques

A gentle stretch and resist technique that educates and restores balance to soft tissue whose dysfunctional tone distorts skeletal structures of the body and causes asymmetry.

Chair Massage

A seated, non-invasive, quick stress-solution as 90% of stress is held in the head and neck.  Can also address back, arms and hands. Great for those who cannot lie flat or are short on time.  Fully Clothed.

Touch for Health

A practice of Kinesiology that uses muscle testing as a method of biofeedback to identify imbalances in the body’s energy system. By rebalancing the body’s energies, it activates the body’s intrinsic healing process so that it can better heal itself. Incorporate into a massage or fully clothed.

Feather-Touch

A most superior light touch with a feather or fingertips that promotes deep relaxation and sensory stimulation for those who enjoy being softly tickled or cannot tolerate deeper forms of bodywork.

Therapeutic Tough with Essential Oils

Nourish and rejuvenate your mind and body with an Therapeutic Touch experience using a blend of essential oils. This technique has the goal of restoring homeostasis in the body by preventing joint and muscle stiffness, reducing stress and toxicity as well as restoring hormonal balance. 8 different essential oils are used in specific patterns of light touch along energy channels to bring your body back in to balance and de-stress your nervous system. During your session, wellness goals will be reviewed to enhance your experience and help learn more about how the essential oils can be part of an overall preventive health care routine.
